    The History Behind Barn Productions

Barn Productions founder, Rob Harkness, began recording music when he was only twelve years old; first recording his own music, then local bands. Raised in Rhode Island, he started out recording music in the upstairs of his father's workshop, which was an actual barn, hence Barn Productions.

After high school, Rob moved to Boston, MA to attend Berklee College of Music, Rob me Lior Chetboun when Lior responded to a classified Rob had posted looking for a new roommate. The two became roommates and soon, good friends and colleagues. While at Barklee, they had the opportunity to work side by side with some of the most renown musicians, producers and engineers in the world.

In 2005, Rob made his first major investment in studio gear and started Barn Productions as an "elaborate home studio" in his Boston apartment.

After obtaining his Bachelor's Degree in Music Production & Engineering from Berklee, Rob decided to relocate Barn Productions to Los Angeles in January 2007. Rob established Barn Productions in L.A. and got business rolling. After obtaining a dual Bachelor's Degree in Music Production & Engineering and Music Business in August of 2007.

The rest, as they say, is history. Barn Productions continues to improve as a facility and business with a varied and loyal client base.
